Galls of Pontania arcticornis can be found, wherever its host plant (Salix phylicifolia and S. lapponum x phylicifolia) are distributed sometimes in high poulation densities. The smoth and thin-walled galls are yellowish-green in colour and grow always on the underside of the leaves. Ref.: Kopelke 1990a
