Pupa of Euura atra

Galls of Euura atra develop on Salix alba and Salix fragils. However, they are hard to detect, since they can be recognised only by slight stem swellings. The galls are never spindel-shaped. The larvae pupate inside of the stem surrounded by faeces. Euura atra occurs in Central- and southern parths of Europe and are sometimes common.
