The multiocular galls of Diplolepis rosae develop on wild and cultivated species of Rosa. The galls gain a size of up to 70 mm and are characterised by thin branching wiry hairs. Usually they develop on leaf buds, but also can be found on stems or fruits. Adults emerge in June-July. This cynipid is common throughout Europe. |
