Damage caused by Tomicus (Blastophagus) minor

Lesser pine shoot beetle, Tomicus piniperda (Scolytidae): The foodplants of this palaearctic species are pine (Pinus) and occasionally spruce (Picea). Characteristic two-branched egg galleries, 2-3 mm wide and up to 10 cm long, with vertical larval tunnels. In older literature you will find this species under Blastophagus minor or Myelophilus minor.
